It's a class A amplifier with a discrete output stage. Thanks to low noise floor and smart ground topology RebelAmp easily handles IEMs or sensitive headphones.

Triple gain

Allows driving high impedence headphones like Audeze LCDs and many others.

H-L-M. It’s done that way to avoid switching from Low to High gain by mistake.

Output switch

With it you can switch outputs between headphones or power amplifier and powered speakers without disconnecting cables.

1 Year review - how to fix RebelAmp

Out of the box RebelAmp is very warm and spacious, but in time you will realize it does not appear to be very powerful, nor detailed specially with smooth DACs like Qtest, so how do we fix it?
1st. get a pre-amp (you can also use a normal headphone as pre-amp). I use an Archel Pro that I had around the house with volume at 9-10 o'clock with Qtest, while Neo iDSD runs at -20-ish DB.
2nd. turn RebelAmp all the way to the max volume. The volume pot cuts away quite a few details so we need to get rid of it.
3rd. Leave the rebel amp ALWAYS ON. At start it is a little harsh, but after a few days, it will become completely smooth AND detailed.
With this setup you will get a very powerful detailed and smooth amplifier. It has more then enough power to PROPERLY dirve non-stealth Arya. (for nor Arya users, yes those are really a bitch to properly power).
Do I still recommend RebelAmp? 100% YES. Even if you factor in the pre-am cost, it is still has an outstanding sound and for the money.
It can easily be an end game for everyone who will not go for insane headphones, and that is really more then 90% of audiophiles.

Nice build and wonderful sound from all my headphones

Very nice piece of equipment. Adds a bit warmth and forwards a notch the mid-highs /highs. The rebel amp powered my Hifiman HE6 SE, almost as good as Violectric V550, which is at least 3-4 times more powerful, and >2k EUR in price. Big thanks to Rebel Audio team. Looking forward and hope to see a balanced amp in future.

Best sounding amp I've ever heard

This is the best sounding amp I've ever heard hands down. I used to be in love with tube amps over solid state, but the class A magic adds so much magic to the sound in a way that most amps cannot achieve. It also has enough power for just about anything you could put on it. I genuinely hope to see more products from Rebel Audio whether that means more amps, or even just more colorways. (A yellow RebelAmp would be amazing).
